Sports Kinesiology is the complete holistic approach to physical emotional well being in natural medicine. It integrates all aspects of discipline such as
Sports medicine, Sports science, performance training, rehabilitation, nutrition and nutritional biochemistry, counselling and energetic sciences. This approach Identifies underlying causes and releases blocks in a person’s body, emotions, mind and spirit enabling the individual to achieve recovery and endurance beyond what they previously thought possible. Kinesiology can relieve pain, stress, muscular and nervous disorders, detect allergies and nutritional deficiencies, assist with psychological and learning problems, stimulate energies and release untapped potential.
Personal Training
Our style of personal training looks at the whole picture. We believe that every individual is unique and has their own background and lifestyle that needs to be considered. We conduct orthopedic, flexibility, strength, core, neurological and hormonal assessments before training any client. By doing this we are able to design programs especially for you, whether your goal is weight loss, muscle gain, athletic performance or rehabilitation. Our elite trainers use the most up to date training technologies and tools available.
Hormone Balancing
Hormones are the master control system of the body. When our hormonal system is out of balance, it makes achieving any of your goals that much more challenging. We balance these hormones using Kinesiology and through your diet. By having balanced hormones comes easier weight loss and muscle gain, improved energy levels and a total sense of wellbeing!
Nutrition and Life coaching / Customized Nutrition Program
When it comes to eating right and knowing what is good for you, most people are confused about it. We all know that one diet doesn’t suit all. What we do at DC Health is assess each client individually and conduct test such as metabolic typing to get the core of the clients needs. Not only will this determine your metabolic type but it will also look into whether your body is deficient in certain minerals and vitamins. We will also show and coach you on portions, and choosing quality and quantity to help you be at your best.
As there is a lot of information out there, we hold regular seminars and workshops that will supply you with the knowledge to make the best choices for yourself.
Functional exercise
At DC Health, we believe in training the movements, not the muscle. Isolation training leads to issues with both form and function and is not the most efficient way to achieve your goals. We use integrated training plans and exercises to allow you to reach your aesthetic and performance goals, but also improve your quality of life.
Rehabilitation
We conduct a series of assessments by assessing the client from a global perspective. A lot of the time when clients come to us with an injury such as knee pain, we don’t just look at that one area. Just like functional exercise, your body works as one whole unit and should be rehabilitated as one. So therefore it could be the ankles, hips or back that could be causing the knee to be thrown out. We also combined this using kinesiology which also aids in finding deeper causes, from a mental, emotional, biochemical and an energetic perspective.
Myofacial Realease
Myofascial release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended for pain relief, increasing range of motion and balancing the body. We use techniques include manual massage for stretching the fascia and releasing bonds between fascia, breaking up adhesions and releasing trigger points. The fascia is a seamless web of connective tissue that covers and connects the muscles, organs, and skeletal structures, located between the skin and the underlying structure of muscle and bone.
Injuries, stress, inflammation, trauma, and poor posture can cause restriction to fascia. Since fascia is an interconnected web, the restriction or tightness to fascia at a place, with time can spread to other places in the body like a pull in a sweater. We use myofascial release to release fascia restriction and restore its tissue health thus helping you get relief and allow your body to reach its full potential of optimal health.
Golf Conditioning
People will spend thousands of dollars looking to improve their golf score. At DC Health we believe the golfer plays the game, not the clubs! We plan your conditioning program to improve your body for golf to help you add extra metres to your drive, or improving your core stability to help with your short game.
Nutritional Cooking classes
In today’s busy society, cooking food that is both healthy and fast can be poblematic. At DC Health we know this problem all too well. For this end we have designed cooking classes that are designed to help show you that eating a healthy diet can be easy, quick and also delicious. We have also identified ways of cooking your favourite snack foods such as ice cream using healthy ingredients to make the food not only satisfying, but good for you!
Athletic Performance
DC Health practitioners not only cater for the average joe, but also are heavily involved in athletic performance with athletes. In the past we have worked with ice skaters, dancers, rugby players, golfers, the armed services and now work with fighters from Mixed martial arts.
Again we combine kinesiology methods and up to date strength and conditioning techniques to assist our athletes reach their full potential.
Corporate Education and Training
DC health offers its services to the Corporate sectors, providing a strength and conditioning type training, similar to one on one sessions catering for large group sized classes that are fun, energising and functional. Not only do we provide classes, we also give every individual a full postural, flexibility assessment and nutrition plan.
